Experience in editing for CBS 24/7 National News and KPIX Local. I edit and publish breaking news across digital platforms. In a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, I manage multiple stories at once, prioritize urgent coverage in real time, and work closely with producers and reporters to ensure everything is accurate, timely, and meets CBS editorial standards.

About Me!

Skylar Shapiro is a San Francisco-based video editor and social media manager who turns long-form interviews, podcasts, and live production into short-form content that performs. At Jotform, she edits YouTube tutorials, the Momentum Podcast, Jotform Academy, and social clips for a channel of more than 189K subscribers. She also writes SEO-driven titles and scripts, builds motion graphics for product launches and partnerships, and supports on-set shoots with lighting, audio, and direction. Before Jotform, Skylar was a News Editor at CBS KPIX Channel 5. There she cut social videos and broadcast packages on tight deadlines in a 24/7 newsroom, working with producers, anchors, and executives. Her field producing and news photography work around the Bay Area rounds out her newsroom experience. Earlier, as Studio Manager at Yoga Flow SF, she led a team of 20+ and ran events and customer relations.

Outside her day job, she volunteers as Social Media Manager at L’Esprit Literary Review, where she grew its audience to 2,800 followers and 2M+ engagement across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. She also helps run its Substack and works as an Associate Editor at Purple Ink Press. Skylar graduated Summa Cum Laude from San Francisco State University with a B.S. in Finance, a B.A. in Film Studies, and a minor in Marketing. She is fluent in Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, and Pro Tools.
